The U.S. Embassy in Brasilia is seeking an individual for the position of Secretary in the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Basic function of position
Provides the full range of secretarial and administrative support services to all USAID staff.

All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
Education: A minimum of two years of college or university studies of secretarial, business, administration or management is required.
Experience: progressively responsible secretarial experience is required.
Language: Level IV (Fluent) in both written and spoken English and Portuguese is required. Language proficiency will be tested for non native speaker.
Of general office management and administrative procedures;
Possess a thorough understand of appropriate protocol policies and procedures;
Be familiar with GOB hierarchy and access procedures.
Skills and Abilities:
Be extremely tactful, possess good judgment and excellent interpersonal skills;
Capable of maintaining positive working relationship with senior officials within the Embassy, the GOB, and the development community;
Be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
Be very organized and able to multitask;
Must be able to work with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet;
Typing Level II (30-59wpm).
Testing may be conducted to determine qualifications.
When fully qualified, U. S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.

Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, continuity and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply. Please submit your most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR).
Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
